holiday pumpkin treats

I admit, I'm not crazy about pumpkin pie. I'd have to agree with my friend Elizabeth—"I always think I'm going to like it..." and then, like Elizabeth, I end up being a little disappointed. (She likes to say that the concept is good, but usually the execution is poor.) So why not try mixing it up a little this Thanksgiving? Martha has some great variations for pumpkin treats that just might make it a little more interesting.

Triple chocolate pumpkin pie. Yummo.

Pumpkin mousse pie.

Pumpkin spice cake with honey frosting. This looks absolutely delicious.

  1. OMG, I am literally covered with drool after looking at the photos. Combining chocolate with pumpkin - never would have thought that would sound enticing, but my God! I have to get a slice of this somewhere. I have been trying to diet this week and have totally lost my enthusiasm for doing so.

  2. I am the same way with pumpkin pie!!! It always looks so good. I found a way good pumkin cobler recipe that is really good.
Make the pumpkin pie the same way it is on the can. place it in a
9 X 13 in pan. Get a vanilla or white cake mix and pour it on top. Then take some sprite or seven up or frescia, (I prefer the frescia and vanilla cake mix) on top of the cobler. You can pour as much of the pop as you want. Then bake at 375 for about 35-45 min. until the top is golden brown. It is really good expecially if you don't like pumpkin pie very much.

  3. oh, i love pumpkin things, but i only "enjoy pumpkin pie" when my dad makes it with the pumpkins he grows. But i tried martha stewarts "pumpkin cake with browned butter frosting and candied walnuts, and it was delicious. I didn't expect it to taste so good. It looked like autumn too.
